Does Smoking Help Weight Loss?

Evidence seems to suggest that smoking cigarettes causes an increase in metabolic rate. Smoking may also suppress appetite.

However, the catastrophic health effects of smoking are far greater than the effects of obesity.

In addition, some health and weight studies show that weight loss among dieters who smoke cigarettes is less than among non-smokers.

Bottom line: if you're tempted to smoke in order to lose weight, DON'T!!

The above note is a result of a conversation I had recently with a friend of mine about my smoking habits. I have been (with due respect to my self esteem) been big-boned since I was, say born....naah, just kidding, well at least for the past ten years. Now smoking has become a habit only over the last couple of years. My reasons, while obscured in ambiguties, cannot be listed. I do get the feeling however, that smoking does help reduce your food intake. It might be helping me, or maybe not. Self-realization in such matters is awfully dim. I would however repeat that, smoking to lose weight is definitely not worth it, but if you are losing weight because you smoke, maybe its all right.

By the way, you have to really that bored to google for 'weight loss smoking'.

well if smoking did anything then my friends in college would've been frail thin. But inside the nicotine gauched lungs of all my smoker pals there is an Ambumani Ramadoss telling him to quit smoking..really Anyways for pathetic ramblings on my engg life read:

well well.....my dear friend losing weight by smoking is a very small thing to b considered...what u might think about is how much does smoking help u in LOSING YOUR LIFE!!!
(with all my worries n care..plz plz QUIT)

talking about statement of purpose...i think we all are in the same boat, all our lives have been directed by the flow of the current, and i think that will not cease to happen! so dont worry live your life(no matter how superficial it may seem) and take my advice try to make all the money u can along the way(that'l help u forget everythin) and enjoy n dont think too much!!!
one thing u need to realise is that there are hardly any ppl who really end up knowing what they really love to do, no matter how much someone may say he likes one sort of academic field and really wants to do this all his life believe me he is as good as u were when u joined engg n thot u had it sorted out!people who know what they love n want to do seldom need universities to help them out!relax mate u r amongst the lucky ones who at least didnt let their boats go down the smelly drains and have managed good ammount of success in life...jus keep searching yourself to know what u really want to do(no m not saying image processing, analog, digital)wot im sayin is wot u realy want to do, all these are professions we never e1 knew wot they were 4 years ago, gettin wot i mean..its like if u realise today that oh u love music so much n u wud have loved being in midst of music all ur life..believe me boy u cant be a dj now but wot u can do is mix songs on a comp and archive say thousands f songs n keep doin that while u r at some shitty job designing something a circuit a code a whatever! and yes finally as said before dont think too much n make loads f money so that u can invest it in ur real passion..real hobby..whatever u love!!!!!!
